Sometimes it’s the little things that mean the most.

Before long shifts and after days on the line, seeing signs of support from the communities we serve is a powerful reminder of why this work matters.

Thank you for supporting the firefighters and support personnel who spend days and weeks away from their loved ones to help protect communities across the country.

🚨FIRE RESTRICTIONS 🚨

The rain last weekend helped, but it’s quickly dried out and gotten hot again. Nationwide we are still at a Planning Level 5 meaning firefighting resources are still very limited. With predicted lightning activity in the coming days it is likely new starts will emerge, and we do not want any to be human caused. Next week restrictions status will be re-evaluated, check your local Federal agency for the latest information.

These photos are from THIS WEEKEND at the reservoir. If you get caught burning a fire like this during a fire ban you will be fined.

And please pick up your garbage, there’s not a dumpster in either of these photos.

Tuesday August 18th was *National Volunteer Firefighter Day*

I just wanted to say a heartfelt THANK YOU to ALL volunteer firefighters for their dedication and commitment to their communities. They can be at work, in the middle of dinner at home or comfortably sleeping in their beds when a tone goes off. It takes time to learn the trucks, PPE and radio communications because we don’t do it every day like a normal career station.

The Big Rock Fire was a great example of what volunteers do for their communities by dropping everything and running towards the danger, preventing threatened structures and businesses from burning.

It shouldn’t take one day of recognition to say thank though, so if you know a volunteer firefighter, see one or simply comment on this post; give them a THANK YOU ❤️‍🔥

(not sure who got this amazing shot from the big rock fire (that’s our truck bottom right) but well done 👏)

RICHFIELD, Utah (KSL) — Family and friends of the firefighters killed while battling a massive wildfire in central Utah on Friday say they each lived lives filled with service and selflessness. Chris Andersen, 64, of Stateline, Nevada, and Miles Elliott, 50, of Porterville, California, were killed...

It is heavy hearts we learn of the passing of the two pilots who were assisting in the attack of Widemouth Fire 2.

Our crew members had gotten to know the pilots for only a week, but that’s a testament to their character and charisma as people. They were more than willing to answer questions about 3HT, gave us a detailed tour and even offered us a seat in the air conditioned trailer to escape the Utah heat. You could tell they truly loved their jobs and had a willingness to help others. We spoke with them yesterday morning, listening to their eventful stories not knowing it would be the last time we would enjoy their company.

Our thoughts and prayers are with their families, friends and their coworkers. đź’”

Rest easy brothers, we have it from here.
Your sacrifice will never be forgotten ❤️

Please keep the two pilots, their families, friends and coworkers in your hearts. Please keep all first responders and wild land firefighters in the world right now in your thoughts, in this horribly tragic fire season.

The U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management and Idaho Department of Lands ordered the restrictions due to very high fire danger and dry conditions on rangelands and forested lands.
*UNDER RESTRICTION*
Big Desert, Caribou and Centennial zones. These zones encompass lands in Bannock, Bear Lake, Bingham, Bonneville, Butte, Caribou, Clark, Franklin, Fremont, Jefferson, Madison, Power, Oneida and Teton counties.

Under the Stage 1 Fire Restrictions, the following acts are prohibited on state and federally managed or protected lands, roads, and trails:

* Building, maintaining, attending, or using a fire, campfire or stove fire except within a designated recreation site and in a permanent concrete or metal fire ring, or on private land, and only within an owner-provided structure.
* Smoking, except within an enclosed vehicle, building, or designated recreation site, or while stopped in an area at least three feet in diameter that is barren or cleared of all flammable materials.

The following are exemptions to the Stage 1 Fire Restrictions:
*Persons with a written permit that specifically authorizes the otherwise prohibited act.
*Persons using fire fueled solely by liquid petroleum or liquid petroleum gas (LPG) fuels. Such devices, including propane campfires, may be used only in an area cleared of flammable material.
*Persons conducting activities in those designated areas where the activity is specifically authorized by written posted notice.
*Any federal, state or local officer or member of an organized rescue or firefighting force in the performance of an official duty.
* All land within a city boundary is exempted.
* Other exemptions unique to each agency.

It takes one tiny spark to make a devastating forest fire.
THANK YOU AND BE SAFE ❤️‍🔥
