Nestled in the heart of Swannanoa, the Swannanoa Branch Library is in Grovemont, a historic neighborhood with ties to H. Built by volunteers as a community center in 1956, for years it was home to teen dances, scout meetings and other local events. Surrounded on three sides by a park, playground and woods, along with a small pollinator garden, Swannanoa Library is a great place to be--inside and o

ut. Comfortable seating, a cozy area for youngsters and our activity room--all in regular use. Although we are the smallest branch in physical space, we have a great collection available for checkout, all the connections of the biggest branches, and a bargain basement book sale that takes up the whole bottom floor. Stroll our walking paths, visit for a concert in the park or cinema on the square and consider finding just what you need in our music and DVD collections to take home when you leave.

Come one and all to Fantasy Storytime at the Swannanoa Library! Join us on Wednesday, July 1st at 11:00am for a story hour of fantasy and fables in your favorite costumes: princesses, knights, dragons, elves, or any other costume.

During our story hour, we'll also craft our very own wands with paint pens, jewels, and other shiny treasures!

Come join us for a roaring good time with Professor Whizzpop's gigantic new show all about dinosaurs, reading books, prehistoric creatures, and fossilized fun: The Monster Magic Show!

During the show we'll assemble a dino from fossils, dodge monsters, hatch a baby dino, and even let a T-Rex have a magical meal! There will be laughs, giggles, amazing magic, and lots and lots of mega-monsters!

This program will be inside and seating is on a first come, first served basis; kids will be given first priority for seating.

Also, please be aware that this show can get loud. If your child has a sensitivity to sound, please consider bringing headphones for them or borrowing a pair at our front desk.

Take a look at our Suggested Summer Reading list. Students are encouraged to read one or more books from their *rising* grade level. When they return in August, prizes will be offered by the OMS Media Center.

Books can be found online through the Sora App or at the Swannanoa Library Branch, Black Mountain Library, or any public library. They can also be purchased online or in book stores.
