The sawdust has finally settled (and weโve finally stopped sneezing, maybe!) ๐, but the pride we feel for the 35th Annual Hyde County 4-H Livestock Show and Sale is still going strong. We all left the arena with a thick layer of dust on our boots and literally everywhere, but it was worth every bit of grit to see this community come together for our youth.
To our 58 exhibitors: we see the passion you have for your animals. Seeing that hard work come to life in the ring was nothing short of inspiring. Whether you took home a ribbon or a wealth of new experience, completing this project is a huge accomplishment. Congrats to our award winnersโyour stellar performance in the ring showed that persistence really does pay off!
This show doesnโt happen without the incredible folks behind the scenes. We want to send a massive thank you to our show volunteers, donors, sponsors, the 4-H Livestock Committee, community supporters, meal/concessions crews, and our dedicated Hyde County Cooperative Extension and County of Hyde staff. You are the backbone of this tradition and we are truly grateful.
A special shout-out to our pros: Andy Burlingham for not just judging, but for taking the time to teach and encourage our kids; Jason Aycock for keeping the auction moving smoothly and keeping us all laughing; Stephen Pearce and our pen crew for wrangling animals all day/night, and Jaila Williams of 720 Photography for capturing these moments so beautifully.
