We are so proud of our Hyde County 4-H Shooting Sports team for their incredible performance at the NC 4-H State Shooting Sports Tournament in Ellerbe, NC!

✅ 𝘽𝙧𝙤𝙙𝙮 𝙏𝙤𝙤𝙡𝙚𝙮 (Senior): 3rd Place (Archery Compound Hunter/Sporter), 5th Place (Compound Match) & R***e T-Class participant!
✅ 𝘼𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙣 𝘿𝙖𝙫𝙞𝙨 (Senior): 3rd Place (Archery Recurve Match), 12th Place (Compound Match), 12th Place (Small Bore Pistol) & R***e T-Class participant!
✅ 𝙈𝙖𝙨𝙤𝙣 𝙋𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙚 (Junior): Made his state debut, hitting 18/25 targets in Sh***un to finish in the TOP 20 in the state!

A massive 𝙏𝙃𝘼𝙉𝙆 𝙔𝙊𝙐 to all of our parents, volunteers, and Coach Drew Berry for his outstanding leadership this season! 👏

Over 160 Mattamuskeet School students in grades 6-12 got a hands-on taste of adulting during our "Real Money. Real World." simulation! 💵 💼

From managing salaries and childcare to making tough choices at 14 community business booths, our students got an eye-opening lesson in financial literacy. A massive thank you to our amazing local volunteers who donated their morning to make this experience possible!

Something green is coming to North Carolina. 🍀

$4 for 4-H is coming October 4–8!

In celebration of National 4-H Week, we’re challenging 4-H supporters across the state to help us receive at least one gift from each of North Carolina’s 100 counties.

Starting October 4, a gift of just $4 can put your county on the map and support opportunities for young people through the 4-H Priorities Fund.

100 counties. One statewide challenge. Let’s see how much of the map we can turn green. 💚

We're so excited to officially launch Barnyard & Beyond 4-H Club, a new club partnering directly with Mattamuskeet School FFA. If you’ve ever wanted to raise livestock, care for small animals like chickens and rabbits, or learn how to show, this is your sign.

You don’t need any prior experience or a farm background—we’ll help guide you every step of the way! Open to all Hyde County youth ages 5–18, our club is all about hands-on animal care, building showmanship skills, and making great friends while learning leadership for life. If you’ve got a passion for animals and a spark of curiosity, come grow with us.

✨ Ready to make your project records shine?

As North Carolina 4-H introduces the new online project record option through Kaleidoscope, we’re offering two sessions via Zoom to help 4-H members and the adults who support them get started.

💻 Adult Help Session | September 21, 7-8 p.m.
4-H staff, volunteers, parents and others are invited to bring their questions and learn more about supporting 4-H’ers with their online project records.

🍀 Youth Help Session | September 22, 7-8 p.m.
4-H’ers are invited to bring their questions and get help as they work on their online project records. All youth must be accompanied by an adult.

Huge congratulations to all of our incredible participants who competed at the Eastern Regional 4-H Shooting Sports on Saturday, August 22, at the Eastern 4-H Center in Columbia, NC! A massive thank you to Coach Drew Berry, our volunteers, and our supportive parents—your dedication and encouragement make all of this possible!

Special shoutouts go to our standout performers who placed or qualified for the State Tournament.

Next stop: States! Brody Tooley, Aiden Davis, and Mason Prince will travel to the North Carolina 4-H State Shooting Sports on October 3, 2026, at Millstone 4-H Camp in Ellerbe, NC, to compete for a spot on the North Carolina National Team.
