Swansea Animal Shelter Volunteers We are a group of volunteers, a separate entity from the Town of Swansea. Animal Shelter – Hours are by appointment only.

We provide necessary funding to keep homeless animals at the shelter healthy, safe and comfortable, until they can be adopted. Animal Control serving Swansea and Somerset Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 9am – 4pm,
Wednesday 9am – 5pm
Saturday Mornings or by appointment. There is an Officer on-call after normal working hours and on weekends for emergencies only, such as an animal hit by car, vic

ious animals or a rabid animal. These calls should be reported to the Swansea Police Department at 508-674-8464 or the Somerset Police Department at 508-679-2138 and they will dispatch an Animal Control Officer. Please call 508-679-6446 to schedule an appointment at your convenience. Please note: We currently have a limited facility for cats, we will assist you in anyway we can and we will respond to calls regarding sick or injured cats. We do on occasion receive cats and kittens in and provide temporary housing for them until they can be adopted or transferred. If you have a problem with a stray, healthy cat please contact the Humane Society or MSPCA.

Valentine is looking for a home of her own again. Unfortunately her last home did not work out.

She is a sweet and sassy gal. She does well w multiple cats here at the shelter. She does like to play stalk and pounce at times w her person...she will hide, plan a stake out then surprise you and jump out...sometimes pouncing on your legs...so no real little children for this gal...as she has a sometimes rough type of play.

Valentine just needs a home ofnher own, love, patience and time ❤️

Please don’t forget about our special girl, Purrsie!
Purrsie has been with us for about 6 months now learning how to be a “cat” and while she doesn’t quite understand reality she does understand love and safety!!
She’s a bit ditzy, she’s a bit judgmental- but she’s cute, sweet, well mannered, and playful. She likes to play hit and loves her toys but she will judge you if you enter her bubble until she figures herself out.
Purrsie does well with other cats and perhaps would benefit from another one to show her how it’s done. She keeps to herself with cat savvy small dogs- however no small children as she does get spooked out easily and can “play hit”.
