Topic: So… Did Anything Actually Change? Measuring Culture After Mental Health Training
Date: June 1, 2026
Length: 1.5 hours
Speakers: Janet Gora, Michelle Rolf, and Laura Brinson
Description: Behavioral health organizations face sustained pressure to do more with fewer resources. Staffing shortages persist. Burnout affects the entire workforce. While many trainings focus on individual knowledge or skills, we asked a broader question: Does mental health training change culture? This session shares findings from a mixed-methods evaluation of a community‑based mental health literacy training implemented across 31 Ohio organizations, including aging services, public agencies, and healthcare settings. Third‑party evaluators from Epiphany Community Services examined whether workforce‑wide training influenced organizational culture, including whether concerns are recognized earlier, discussed more openly, and addressed more consistently. The session highlights both meaningful changes and areas where impact was more limited, based on participant survey data and qualitative feedback.
