Corn Fest Safety Reminders

As Corn Fest, the Swanton Police Department would like to remind everyone of the following:

E-Bikes/E-Scooters in Memorial Park: To help ensure the safety of all festival attendees, e-bikes/e-scooters are not to be operated in Memorial Park during Corn Fest activities. With large crowds, children, and pedestrians throughout the park, this restriction is in place to help prevent accidents and keep everyone safe.

Parade Parking: To prepare for Saturday morning's Corn Fest Parade, all vehicles must be removed from Main Street between Brookside Dr. and Garfield Ave, and W. Garfield Ave by 10:00 a.m. Parking will not be permitted on the aforementioned streets until the parade has concluded and the roadway has been reopened.

Traffic Advisory – Fireworks Display at Memorial Park

The Swanton Police Department will be conducting traffic control operations for the 2026 Independence Day Fireworks Celebration at Memorial Park Soccer Fields on Thursday, July 2, 2026, starting at 4:00 PM.

Please be alert to officers directing traffic, obey all posted signs, and allow extra time for travel and parking in the area. If possible, consider walking to the park to help reduce traffic congestion and improve safety for everyone attending.

Traffic Flow After the Event:

All traffic exiting parking areas onto Main Street will be directed north, with the option to continue north on Main Street or turn east on East Garfield Avenue.

All traffic leaving parking off of West Garfield Avenue will be directed west.

Vehicles parked along Airport Highway will be permitted to travel either east or west.

South Main Street will be closed north of Airport Highway until parking areas are mostly cleared, after which it will reopen for normal traffic.

During National Police Week, the Swanton Police Department would like to thank the dedicated men and women of law enforcement here at home and across the country for their service, sacrifice, and commitment to protecting our communities.

We also honor and remember the brave officers who gave the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Their courage and dedication will never be forgotten.
