We are currently experiencing a telephone service issue affecting landlines throughout the area. Calls placed from cell phones may not go through to landline numbers, including the Town Hall.

FiberHawk is aware of the issue and is working to restore service. This is not limited to the Town’s telephone line.

⚠️ Heavy Rain & Standing Water Reminder

With additional heavy rain expected today, residents may see ponding, standing water and high water levels throughout Swayzee.

The waterways that our stormwater system drains into are already full and backing up, which can cause water to drain more slowly and lead to additional ponding as rain continues.

Please use caution today:

• Do not drive through standing or flooded water.
• Keep children away from standing water, especially near storm drains and drainage areas.
• Please allow extra time for water to recede as conditions improve.

🌧️ Swayzee Community Cleanup Day Update

Our Community Cleanup Day is scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, August 15 at 9:00 AM.

With rain in the forecast, if it is raining, the organized cleanup will be canceled.

Even if Mother Nature doesn’t cooperate tomorrow, we’d still love your help getting Swayzee looking its best! ❤️ Residents are welcome to pitch in throughout the week by picking up litter and helping clean up around town whenever the weather allows.

🌼 Community Day – Let's Get Swayzee Ready! 🌼
Join us on Saturday, August 15 as we come together to spruce up our town before Swayzee Days!
📍 Meet at Town Hall at 9:00 AM
We'll work until the projects are finished.
We'll be tackling jobs such as:
• Cleaning up the kids' barrel ride
• Planting flowers
• Spreading mulch
• Sweeping sidewalks (please bring a broom if you have one!)
• Pulling weeds
• Waterproofing the picnic tables in Swayzee Square
• And whatever else needs a little TLC!
Whether you can stay all day or just lend a hand for an hour, every bit of help makes a difference. Many hands make light work, and together we can make Swayzee look its very best for everyone to enjoy.

⚠️ HEAVY RAINFALL / STORMWATER UPDATE – TOWN OF SWAYZEE ⚠️

Due to the significant amount of rain our area has received, Swayzee’s storm drains and drainage system are currently handling a very large volume of water. Residents may notice standing water, temporary street flooding, and drains that are backing up or draining more slowly than usual.

Our drainage system is continuing to move water, but with this much rainfall in a short period of time, it may take some time for the system to catch up.

Please use caution:

* Do not drive through flooded or water-covered streets.
* Avoid low-lying areas and areas with moving water.
* Keep children away from flooded streets, ditches, storm drains, and drainage areas.
* If possible, keep vehicles off streets with significant standing water.
* Do not remove or open storm drain structures or manhole covers.

Town personnel are aware of the drainage issues and are monitoring conditions. Please be patient as the system continues to move the water. Even after the rain slows or stops, standing water may take some time to recede.
