Swea City Iowa-City Page Swea City is a small Iowa town. It is a close knit community and is a very welcoming place. In February 1893, the town of Reynold's became known as Swea City.

Just a few updates -

The City will be working with Jeff Jensen/Trees Forever on a tree removal and replant project. Alycia has submitted grants through Alliant and Iowa DNR for this project. Trees on City property will be eligible.

Nichole Lowe was appointed to the Library Board.

The City owned light poles will be getting a much needed scrub down and repaint along with some updated electrical. Just in time for the new holiday decorations that will be up for the holiday season.

Street repairs are complete.

Swea City Parks & Rec along with some generous donors once again outdid themselves and the Pickleball court is ready for use.

The stop sign on the north end of main, by the bank has been removed.

The two residential nuisance properties the City attorney has been handling, are showing progress.

Mayor Langford has encouraged council members to be active in their nuisance areas so the city can move forward in addressing junk vehicles.

3 weeks away! Please share and plan to come this fall! The pumpkin crop is amazing. The apple crop is ok but will go fast depending on how many people come. Honey will be for sale. Best honey ever. We expect that to sell out over the first two - three weekends. We added a new shelter area and a few more areas to sit. Come and watch us grow each year!
