This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness gave us the freedoms we enjoy every day.

As we spend time with family and friends this weekend, let us never forget those who gave everything for this nation and the Gold Star families who continue to carry that loss each day.

Today, we remember the fallen.
We honor their sacrifice.
And we remain forever grateful.

Earlier this week, officers took reports of thefts at an apartment complex off Highway 68. Detectives followed up on multiple leads and were able to identify a possible suspect.

During the investigation, officers also responded to reports of additional thefts at another business where a trailer had been broken into and various items were stolen from underneath a shed.

Officers and detectives continued investigating both incidents and determined the same suspect was responsible for the thefts and burglaries. The suspect was identified as John Cox.

Detectives later followed up on a lead that resulted in the recovery of most of the stolen property. Officers subsequently conducted a traffic stop in which Mr. Cox was located and taken into custody.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
