Sweetwater Utilities Board has hired Corey Bowman with Opterra Solutions, license number 132350, to perform herbicide treatments of existing rights of way. Opterra Solutions employees will be working throughout the SUB service territory in late August and early September. The treatment of undergrowth areas will help to promote the ongoing vegetation line clearing program and increase the reliability to SUB customers. By using herbicides to treat woody vegetation, the right of ways are manipulated into low growth forbs and grasses which reduce cost to access and maintain lines. Opterra Solutions uses only EPA approved herbicides and are contracted by many Electric companies throughout Tn. This is a process that is and will be ongoing for SUB in order to insure electric grid stability. Any questions can be emailed to [email protected] or [email protected].
