✈️ OVERNIGHT HANGAR STORAGE — AND A PRETTY COOL HANGAR MATE! ✈️

We’ve got another great example of just how much support Turbines & Tumbleweeds continues to receive from the City of Sweetwater, Texas and the folks at Avenger Field.

Going into this year’s event, one of our concerns was overnight aircraft storage.

The old WWII-era Quonset hut hangar we’ve used has a new tenant — and sitting inside is a very nice, very classy, and very expensive HondaJet.

Needless to say, we weren’t sure we would still be able to use the hangar during T&T.

Tim at the airport went to work for us. He reached out to the hangar tenant, Mr. Flood, explained the situation, and asked whether he would be willing to share his hangar with a whole bunch of giant RC jets for a few nights.

He said yes.

So we’re happy to announce that we WILL have overnight hangar storage again this year!

Each evening, we’ll park our aircraft together inside and along the right side of the hangar, where they can remain secure overnight. That means no tearing airplanes down every evening, hauling them back to the hotel, and assembling everything again the next morning.

And yes… your airplanes will be spending the night with a HondaJet. 😎

We probably shouldn’t have to say this, but we will anyway:

This is absolutely a LOOK-SEE, NO-TOUCHY situation. 😂

Take pictures. Admire it. Feel free to dream about what you’d buy if you hit the lottery.

But no touching… and try to keep the drooling to a minimum.

All joking aside, this is another example of something that has made Turbines & Tumbleweeds at Avenger Field so special.

The cooperation and support we receive from the City of Sweetwater, the airport and the National WASP WWII Museum is extraordinary. It’s difficult to imagine another municipality going to these lengths to accommodate an RC event and make our pilots feel this welcome.

A huge THANK YOU to Tim, the City of Sweetwater, and especially Mr. Flood for generously allowing us to share his hangar and keep our aircraft protected each night.

We appreciate the trust, and we’ll make absolutely certain we respect his aircraft, his hangar, and his generosity.

This is how Sweetwater welcomes Turbines & Tumbleweeds.

🌵✈️ See you at Avenger Field!
