Please make sure you are prepared for power outages in our area this weekend and stay safe when using generators.

Please see the info on generator safety. Some homes are wired where you can hook up directly without the use of drop cords. If this is your case, please discontinue the use of your generator if you see power companies in your area.

Make sure to use generators in a well ventilated area and never inside of a structure.

Tonight we deidicated the bench in front of our Station to the man who inspired and motivated so many in the fire service.
Most evenings you could find Darrell watching traffic pass by after dinner out front. Many productive conversations were had in front of the station.
We are all better beacuse of Darrells leadership. We miss him greatly, and are thankful for his 63 years of dedication to Swepsonville Fire Department.

PSA from Alamance county 911:

Currently Verizon and other cell phone carriers that are associated with Verizon and Verizon’s network are having issues getting through to 911 due to extreme static on the line. So far this issue is not affecting AT&T. If you are unable to get through to 911 on Verizon service or a phone associated with Verizon please call the Alamance County non-emergency line at 1-336-570-6777. The issues with Verizon are occurring nationally and not just locally. Thank you for patience and understanding.
