Swine nomination forms are due next MONDAY, JUNE 1! If you are planning to show pigs this year at the 4-H Livestock Fair, be sure to turn in your swine nomination form. They can be found on our website at go.illinois.edu/DeKalb4-H

If you haven't completed the Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) training, please make plans to complete it by June 8. This training is required for anyone showing beef, dairy, goats, sheep, or swine. Complete the training online at: https://yqcaprogram.org/

Before entering your projects in FairEntry, be sure to carefully read the Fairbook so you know the exhibit requirements and classes available. Then head to FairEntry to complete your entries. Calling all Cloverbuds! Jr. Federation is planning a fun-filled summer camp day just for you on May 30 from 9 AM–Noon at the Chief Shabbona Forest Preserve. There will be games, snacks, activities, and even a “bear hunt”! Cost is $10 paid that day, and you can bring a friend. Sign up by May 22 at go.illinois.edu/CloverbudFunDay

Great opportunity to learn more about the electricity project!

The Electricity Workshop is coming up quickly! Please register in ZSuite under Events if you plan to attend. We need to have a minimum number of participants to hold this FREE workshop on May 27 at 6 pm.

If you are interested in the Electricity project, we HIGHLY recommend you attend this workshop. We have an industry professional going through the fair rules step-by-step with you to help you succeed and exhibit a high-quality project (these rules should be consistent across the state of Illinois). Participants will learn essential safety and best practices, along with wiring a basic fixture.
