As the beginning of the school year approaches, we wanted to take this opportunity to tell you how fortunate we are to have Crossing Guard Doug with us again this year. He has been a volunteer crossing guard for over 4 years, and our town is so lucky to have him. He is always friendly to everyone and very reliable, even on those bad weather days, and he shuns any type of recognition for his service to the town. If you see Doug at the crosswalk this year, please take a moment to thank him. I know he would appreciate it. From all of us here at the Sykesville Police Department, we wish all students, teachers and parents a safe and happy school year!

FOUND WEDDING BAND

A wedding band was found at the Sykesville Farmers Market on August 9, 2026.

The application for Jr. CSI is now open!

We're excited to host our 17th Annual Jr. CSI Academy on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at Millard Cooper Park! This program is open to middle school students. Please send in your application as soon as possible, as class size is limited.
