URGENT****Please see the 1st column showing the New phones numbers for the Sylacauga Municipal Court effective immediately. The old numbers are listed in the middle column for reference. I want to apologize for any inconvenience this may cause but this was out of our control.

****IMPORTANT****
The trial docket set for this month on May 28th has been CANCELED and all cases will be reset on the next trial docket in June. Notices will be sent out to everyone on the docket to notify you of your new date and time. If you have not given the court office your current or correct mailing address then you will need to call the office to do so at 256-401-2521. Failure to do so does not excuse your absence for the new date you are being moved to. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

**IMPORTANT NOTICE****
Due to Staffing shortage, we will close our window on May 8, 9 & 10 at 12 noon. We will still be in the office to answer any phone calls but please know there will be only 2 of us so wait times may be longer than usual. NO WE CAN NOT CONTINUE AN UPCOMING COURT DATE, ONLY the Judge has that authority. If you want to request a Continuance, it has to be submitted in writing for the Judge to rule on. If we are closed you can place your request in an envelope and drop it in the mailbox outside at the front of the building located at the top of the handicap ramp. If you have a payment you may do the same by placing it in an envelope with your name and contact info included and write "Sylacauga Court" on the outside of the envelop. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

COURT is CANCELED for July 21st, ALL sessions for that day. We are trying to contact everyone either by phone or address. If you or someone you know has a court appearance scheduled for this day please give the office a call at 256-401-2521 to help us make sure that we have your current contact information on file. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause but we are trying to update contact information so we can keep everyone well informed on any changes we have to make.

CITY OF SYLACAUGA
PRESS RELEASE

City of Sylacauga City Hall and services will re-open to the public on Monday, May 18, 2020 at 8:00 AM. All social distancing regulations will remain in place. There will be lines on the floor indicating the six feet required for social distancing once inside the building. Visitors may enter from the Broadway parking lot entrance only. Entry and exit doors will be clearly marked. The number of visitors allowed in the departments will be limited, and only one member of any family or party should enter City Hall to conduct business. Hand sanitizers will be available in the lobby.

The Police Department, City Clerk’s Office, Municipal Court, Code Enforcement, and Mayor’s Office will open at 8:00 AM. The Code Enforcement Office will be available by appointment only between the hours of 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM. Appointments are recommended for any in-person business when possible.

No visitors that are sick should enter any City of Sylacauga facility.
