Thank you to everyone who joined us last night for another great meeting of the Talladega County Republican Party Executive Committee.
Republicans from across our county gathered to discuss Party business, hear important updates, and continue building for the future. We were honored to welcome Alabama Republican Party Chairman Scott Stadthagen, who provided valuable updates on Party activities, election strategy, and the continued work being done to strengthen Republican organizations across Alabama. His leadership, support, and commitment to grassroots Republicans are greatly appreciated.
We also welcomed Peyton Crist with Safe Haven Baby Boxes, who shared an inspiring presentation on this life-saving initiative and the impact it is having on families and newborns in crisis situations. Following the presentation, Chairman Epperson presented Peyton with a copy of the resolution unanimously adopted by the Executive Committee at our April meeting affirming the sanctity of human life and supporting the Safe Haven Baby Box Initiative. We are proud to support practical, compassionate, and life-affirming solutions that protect both mothers and children.
Additionally, Chairman Epperson presented Peyton with the first $500 installment of the Party's five-year, $2,500 commitment toward annual maintenance costs for the Safe Haven Baby Box to be located at Sylacauga Fire Department Station #1.
We also appreciate Representative Ben Robbins joining us and thank him for his continued conservative leadership and service to Talladega County. It was a pleasure to welcome Jim Zeigler, the Republican nominee for Alabama Public Service Commission Place 2 and former Alabama State Auditor. His longstanding dedication to transparency, accountability, and constitutional government continues to inspire conservatives across our state, and we appreciate him taking the time to join us.
Last night, we were pleased to welcome Josh Hays as our newest General Member. We are excited to have him join our Republican family and look forward to his involvement as we continue to grow our organization and advance conservative principles throughout Talladega County. We continue to accept new member applications and encourage anyone interested in becoming involved to contact Chairman Sondra Epperson at [email protected].
Finally, we are excited to officially announce the Inaugural Talladega County First Responder Awards Gala, which will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at the J. Craig Community Center.
This special event will honor excellence in Fire Service, Law Enforcement, EMS, Emergency Communications, and Emergency Response throughout Talladega County. Our first responders answer the call every day to protect our communities, often without recognition or fanfare. This gala will provide an opportunity for our community to come together and celebrate the men and women who dedicate their lives to serving others.
Additional details regarding sponsorship opportunities, table reservations, and award nominations, and RSVP will be announced soon. In the meantime, Save the Date for November 5th!
Thank you to our officers, Executive Committee members, General Members, elected officials, Republican Nominees, guests, and volunteers for your continued commitment to our Party, our county, and our conservative values.
