Please try to refrain from all burning!!!

The National Weather Service has issued a **🚩RED FLAG WARNING🚩** for North Carolina counties.
👉Review weather alerts for North Carolina: https://bit.ly/40DsGTW

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures will create dangerous fire behavior.

Fire danger is elevated across the state. While open burning is permitted during a red flag, it is NOT advised. Please postpone all outdoor burning.

Careless debris burning is the leading cause of wildfires in North Carolina, and you are our best defense against wildfire.

🔥Increased Fire Danger Today Statewide!

Please refrain from burning outdoors until further notice. The combination of gusty winds, low relative humidity, and dry conditions can create rapid fire growth situations.

Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged.

🚨 Can First Responders Find Your Home? 🚨

In an emergency, every second counts — and clearly displaying your 911 address can make all the difference. Here are a few simple tips to help fire, EMS, and law enforcement locate you quickly:

âś… Use large, reflective numbers (at least 4 inches tall)
✅ If your house isn’t visible from the road, post your address at the driveway
âś… Keep numbers clear of trees, shrubs, or decorations
âś… Use high-contrast colors for better visibility
âś… Stick to easy-to-read, block-style fonts
âś… Put numbers on both sides of your mailbox
✅ Make sure your address is visible at night — consider lighting or reflective materials

Help us help you — make your address easy to see! 🏠👀
