📅 Exhibit runs for a few weeks, the Library is open six days a week Monday & Wednesday 9:00am to 6:00pm, Tuesday & Thursday 9:00am to 8:00pm and Friday and Saturday 9:00am to 5:00pm.

Thank you to everyone who participated, and to our judges (Jackson County Arts Council– Emily Powell and Brian Huneycutt, Sylva Art + Design- Andrea Nyberg and Jacque Laura Large) and supporters who made this contest possible. Also, a special thanks to the artist at the Jackson County Green Energy Park, Chelsea Seaman, Kevin McNiff, and Colton Williford for the 1st place trophies!

Spring is just around the corner and the AWM is looking for volunteers interested in working in the garden. Garden volunteers have the freedom to operate the garden as a cooperative, with the assistance and support of the AWM. We donate any abundance to local food banks following the long-standing Appalachian tradition of sharing with neighbors. The garden plot is established and fenced. We have a small greenhouse and garden tools on-site. Fill out the Volunteer form, link in the comments, if you are interested in joining this fabulous team!

The Jackson County Historic Preservation Commission is excited to announce the 2nd Annual Historic Places Art Contest in celebration of National Historic Preservation Month – May 2026!

👩‍🎨👨‍🎨 Open to ALL ages and ALL Jackson County residents
🖼️ Three categories:
📸 Photography
🎨 Two-Dimensional
🗿 Three-Dimensional

Create original artwork inspired by historic places in Jackson County that are at least 50 years old—from buildings and bridges to parks, cemeteries, and community landmarks.

🏆 Prizes, public exhibition, and certificates
📅 Submission Deadline: Wednesday, April 15, 2026 by 4:00 PM
