Dog #4- Beady

Beady is a 1 yr 3 mo. old spayed female. How she has been at LC4 since 5/15/26 is bigger than a Scooby mystery! Beady loves playing with other dogs and toys. If this girl is this happy now, imagine how happy she is going to be in her furever home!

Dog #6 - Kane

This big boy came in on July 31, 2026 with some skin issues. He is healing well with treatment and will need continued care. Kane is 8 years old and was reported as coexisting with other dogs and being housebroken. Kane is just the biggest luv bug there is. If high energy is not for you, Kane is your dog. This boy lives for being a couch potato and if it was an Olympic sport, he would definitely be in the gold.

So how about it? Anyone ready to jailbreak this couch potato and open up a spot on your couch?

Brass was surrendered and has been at LC4 since 8/1/2026. She just adores the other dogs and toys! The previous owner reported she was good with other dogs, kids, strangers and was housebroken, but after shelter time she may need to work on the last. She already knows her sit, stay and down. Speaking of the down, it appears she has a weakness for belly rubs! If you find the right spot her leg will let you know. She is ready to find her forever family - are you ready?

TJ has been at LC4 since May 31, 2026. He is a neutered male that is 3 years old. TJ does well with other dogs and has lots of energy. Did someone say play? What an appropriate day, National Dog Day, to announce the sponsorship of 6 dogs in honor of Officer Chuck Adkins. Watch throughout the day as each of the dogs gets a chance in the spotlight.

Starting us off is Jersey. Jersey is a 1 year 3 month-old neutered male. Jersey started with LC4 and was adopted but unfortunately his owner passed and there was not family to take him or his sister so they were returned to LC4. His sister was adopted already, but Jersey has not. Jersey can be a little shy at first but given some time he warms up. If you can give him patience, love and confidence building he is going to be an awesome dog for someone. Are you that someone?

The City of Sylvania Police Division wishes to extend our condolences to the family and friends of one of our retired officers. Charles (Chuck) Adkins Jr. who was a member of this department from 1980 until he retired in 1995. Although Chuck could appear a little on the gruff side, he had a total soft spot for animals, especially dogs. Chuck selflessly volunteered at LC4 and even when he could no longer take the dogs on walks, he was a great snuggle buddy to the puppies and dogs. The Sylvania Police FOP Lodge 129 wanted to honor this memory of Chuck by sponsoring 6 of the dogs at LC4. Each of these dogs have had their adoption fees completely sponsored. These dogs are spade or neutered, heartworm negative, vaccinated and microchipped. All they need is a loving family and a $25 dog license fee to become part of your family. We will be posting a little information and picture of each sponsored dog.
