On July 12, 2026 at approximately 2:40am SVFD units were dispatched to a residential fire on Tanna Shae Lane. While en route units requested mutual aid from Clear Springs Fire Department and Reidland-Farley Fire District for additional apparatuses and man power. Units operated on scene for approximately three hours getting the fire under control. As always, we highly value our relationships with neighboring departments and thankful for their response.

THIS WEEKEND! SVFD is hosting a basic 20 class where you will receive hands on training from area state instructors. If you're an area firefighter that needs your basic 20 or if you just want a refresher course, grab your gear and come train with us! Please be sure your gear is up to date and be ready to have a good time.
Not a firefighter, but interested in what we do? Come on out, we'd be glad to show you around!

Been a busy night of clean-up from tonights storms. We want to thank all of the area residents that stopped to help clear roadways along side area fire departments and road departments. Power companies are out working hard to restore power, and the last of the blocked roadways will reopen soon.

We would like to welcome Deputy Adam Glisson to the Sheriff’s Office. Deputy Glisson was sworn in today by Graves County Circuit Judge Kevin Bishop.

Deputy Glisson has previously worked for the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office as a Court Security Officer. He also serves as an Assistant Chief for the Symsonia Volunteer Fire Department.

Deputy Glisson will attend basic training in the near future. Welcome to the team Deputy Glisson.
