Leading from the field. Just two days into his tenure as Pavion CEO, Andy Bierer is already spending time alongside customers and frontline teams.

From a large-scale school modernization project for life safety, security, AV, and critical communications to supporting conferencing and collaboration systems in Washington, D.C., Andy spent his first days alongside Pavion teams, customers, and technicians who deliver our promise every day.

Joined by William Seifert, CTS-I, CTS-D, James Garner, PM Nathaniel Britell, and technicians Adair Howie and Shaun Burns, these visits reinforced what makes Pavion special: trusted customer relationships, technical expertise, and a relentless commitment to customer experience.

Because the best way to lead is to listen, learn, and stay close to the people who make the work happen.

Not all smoke detection technologies are built for the same environment.

Spot photo smoke detection may be the right fit for many standard commercial spaces, while aspirating smoke detection can provide earlier warning in high-risk, high-value, or difficult-to-access areas.

Understanding how these systems work—and when they may be required—can help building owners improve emergency preparedness, support first responders and maintain code compliance.
