Did our first x .fnb grocery giveaway today! While the cold, rainy weather seemed to keep most people indoors, we were able to give out some hot food and bags of groceries anyway! After packing up, a couple members dropped the rest of the fresh food and dropped it at the at All Saints, then filled a shelf in the with some non-perishable foods.

Another group of folks stayed behind and packaged up all of the hot foods we had prepared and made some good, old fashioned style distro meals to hand out to our local unhoused neighbors. No food wasted when there are hungry people!!

While we wish more people had come by to grab food today, we're more than happy to do the work to make sure the food gets where it needs to go. We'll be doing another food giveaway soon, so if you or someone you know needs food, please feel free to either reach out, or follow to find out when the next one will be! If you're interested in getting involved with this or other forma of mutual aid, hit us up! is the only thing that will get us through these times.

Sorry for the lack of design, but we want to make sure that we pass on as accurate of information as possible, as quickly as possible. Last night, we posted an update that showed up in the OTDA portal alerting NY recipients that they would be getting their November balances applied to their cards, starting tomorrow, Sunday November 9th. Today, the news has slightly changed after a late night ruling from refusing to release the emergency funds from USDA.

Most states are remaining tight lipped on the status of SNAP for their citizens, as you can see in the first slide. That said, as you can see in the second slide (provided by a comrade that is a SNAP recipient and was able to check their OTDA portal), some NY SNAP accounts are currently showing dates for FULL benefit deposits.

With how much and how quickly things are changing, this may not remain as such. But for now, it seems that people will be getting some relief soon. As mentioned last night, we will continue our efforts to help all of our neighbors make it through the holiday season with dignity and full bellies.

What does this mean for the money that we've raised so far through our campaign? Well, it doesn't really change anything. Onondaga county has some of the highest rates of food insecurity in the state, and while SNAP benefits being temporarily reinstated is a huge thing to celebrate, our neighbors aren't out of the woods. We will still continue to raise money, take donations of non-perishable foods (we can even take things that normal food pantries can't, like home canned goods!), and share lists of resources as well find them.

Holiday times are difficult for many people, and we at want to do everything in our power to make sure that no one goes without. If you can aid in our mission, please consider doing so. You can do something as big as donating to our fundraiser (link in bio), donating food for us to share with our neighbors, or volunteer your time with us. Or you can do something as small as liking and sharing our posts, sharing our fundraiser with as many people as possible, sharing the resources we come up with far and wide (links to said resources also available in bio).

This has been a rough year for so many, and it's primed to get worse going forward. While we'll be optimistic and say that we foresee Holiday meals and glad tidings all around, we definitely won't be depending on those in charge to make it happen. Let's remember what really looks like. Let's remember what coming together can really do. Let's keep sharing to make sure that no one has to choose between a roof over their head or a meal on their table.

Help our community members that are losing access to the basic everyday necessity that is food! Please donate whatever amount you can and it will be distributed directly to people who are losing SNAP (food stamps) for the month of November 2025.

This is a crisis moment, and we have to do everything we can to help our community. No one is going to save us, but us. 1 in 5 households in Onondaga County rely on SNAP to buy groceries, according to Syracuse.com. Roughly two thirds of those households contain children, elderly or disabled individuals. Not everyone can avail themselves of the existing infrastructure. Food pantries help, not everyone can get to them, and their offerings don't consider any dietary restrictions.

We have created a document that is filled with all types of resources in the CNY area where people can get food for free or very low cost, which you'll find in our . We are also looking to create a of sorts with struggle meal/budget meal recipes from the community at large, so please send us yours!

🔥Share this fundraiser: Share with everyone - friends, family, coworkers, on social media. Help amplify our impact

💸Donate! Every dollar counts. Contribute now to help us reach our goal

🎉Collect donations: Organize a food drive in your school, neighborhood, place of worship, etc. .fnb is also actively accepting donations of food that will be used to cook community meals at locations across the CNY area in coming weeks

🍕If you work at a place with excess food waste, ask if you could take some of that to donate: If they are hesitant to let you, as an employee take it, see if they would be willing to be put in touch with us! We are an official non-profit

🧭Volunteer: Your time and skills can make an impact too. You can volunteer at local food pantries, soup kitchens, religious houses, give away centers and even with Salt City

We know that it is the duty of all of us to help provide for our community. Every act of kindness, every dollar, and every moment of your time brings us closer to achieving our mission. Together, we can create a brighter, more compassionate world for all.

Please join us for a solemn vigil next week, October 7th, at 7pm, to mark the two year anniversary of the latest stage of the ongoing g-cide in Palestine. With hundreds of thousands of lives estimated to have been taken, and even more irrevocably altered for generations to come, it can feel like things are hopeless. But that’s exactly why we need to remember the resilience that defines Palestinians, which is why we have named our event in honor of the concept of Sumud (صمود), of perseverance through resilience as a form of nonviolent, everyday resistance against the occupation. It involves a determination to maintain presence, human dignity, and connection to the land by sustaining ordinary life, pursuing cultural activities, and preserving social and familial bonds, even in the face of overwhelming adversity.

This year, we will join together at sundown, around hundreds of candles, each symbolizing within its own light hundreds of lives stolen. Please bring any battery-operated candles of your own that you would like to add to the display. We will have pieces of paper on which to write messages of hope to share with not only one another but with the community at large.

We will announce the location closer to the event date for safety purposes. Please feel free to contact with any questions.
