Jonathan Cancer Fund, Inc.

Jonathan Cancer Fund, Inc. Founded in 1993, The JCF provides financial assistance to families of children suffering from cancer who are being treated in Onondaga County.

The Jonathan Cancer Fund strives to help families with the unexpected costs surrounding a pediatric cancer diagnosis. The Jonathan Cancer Fund provides families with:

Financial Assistance: Many expenses associated with childhood cancer are not covered by insurance. Additionally, during treatment, there are many hidden expenses, which may strain a family. The Jonathan Cancer Fund can offer assista

nce with some of these unexpected costs, including special equipment, doctor and drug co-pays, travel, car repairs and phone expenses. Meal Cards: The Jonathan Cancer Fund feels that well-fed parents are better caretakers for themselves and their child. A visit to the cafeteria also gives the family a much- needed respite. A meal card is available to the family when a child is an inpatient at Golisano Children’s Hospital. Phone Cards: It is important for parents to be able to call family members to keep them updated on their child's prognosis and treatment. Emotional support is necessary to help the family through the crisis. A phone card is available when a child is an inpatient at Golisano Children’s Hospital. Cell phones typically do not work well, if at all, on the treatment floors. Support and Awareness: The Jonathan Cancer Fund has created a community of parents and families that can turn to one another for advice and support during this trying time in their lives. The Jonathan Cancer Fund is dedicated to spreading childhood cancer awareness.
