With recent meltoff and more snow on the way, itโ€™s the perfect moment to check your yard sewer pipes. โ„๏ธ All year long make sure your sewer access pipes and vents aren't broken or buried by snow or debris, which could cause backup of odors and gases, or drainage problems indoors. Avoid knocking into these pipes during mowing or yard work.

If your cap is missing or broken, replacements are available at home improvement stores or online. If your pipes are damaged, contact a licensed plumber. For a list of Onondaga County licensed plumbers, go to: onondaga.gov/wep/plumbingcontrol/
