SCSD After School Enrichment Programs
Location: Ed Smith, Webster, Clary, Dr. Weeks, Frazier, and Huntington Schools

Comprehensive programs and services for older adults 60+ such as transportation, meals, depends brief bank, activities, learning experiences, exercise, referrals and more. Employment and skills training serv

ices are offered at Westcott CC. Basic Needs Pantry with food, toiletries, and hygiene supplies. Community Health Advocacy Program utilizes fresh foods, education, case management services, and outreach to provide an integrated approach to health outcomes for community members. High School Equivalency classes

Last week, several older adults we serve attended the annual Senior Luncheon hosted by Onondaga County Department of Adult & Long Term Care Services at Pascale Catering At Drumlins Country Club.

The event brought together seniors from across the community for an afternoon of good food, connection, and celebration. Our participants truly enjoyed the opportunity to socialize and take part in such a special gathering.

We’re feeling incredibly thankful after this year’s US Postal Service's Stamp Out Hunger food drive! A big shoutout to the dedicated letter carriers at the Teall Ave Post Office and to everyone who set out donations to support our community.

Together, you helped collect 40 mail bins (not all pictured) full of food for our pantry. Your generosity will help keep our shelves stocked and ensure local families have access to nutritious food in the weeks ahead. Thank you for showing what community care looks like!

What happens when local chefs get a mystery box of pantry staples and fresh produce and are challenged to create something delicious on the spot? 🍽️🔥
Introducing our new Pantry Chef Program in partnership with the Kitchen Literacy Project and local chef this month, Joe Chisari of Mojo’s!
Inspired by a Chopped-style challenge, Chef Joe created an amazing meal using ingredients from the fresh produce boxes provided through the Food Bank of Central New York along with pantry staples and a few kitchen basics. 🥕🧅🍅
Our older adult participants sampled the dish, shared a meal together, and went home with a fresh produce box and a recipe created right before their eyes. ❤️
This is just the beginning - we’ll be hosting a new Pantry Chef challenge every month!
👨‍🍳 Local chefs: think you’ve got what it takes? We’d love to have you join the challenge.
