Thank you to all the men and women of our organization, our partner agencies and across the entire worldwide fire service brotherhood for your unwavering dedication and commitment to our communities.

Across the world, on May 4, we stand united by a profound sense of remembrance and respect.

International Firefighters’ Day is more than a date.
It is a shared global moment — a moment to pause.

To remember and honour the lives of those who have passed.
To commemorate the courage and commitment of those who serve today.
To educate and inspire those who will serve in the future.

This day provides us with space to reflect on courage, on service freely given without expectation, and on lives lost while protecting others.

A life lived in service of others is never forgotten.

The legacy of those we honour does not fade with time. It lives on in the values they embodied and in the communities they protected.

Wherever May 4 finds you today, we thank you.

Help us Light the Night for Fallen Firefighters! Our cupola is lit up red to observe National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Week, which runs until May 3rd, honoring firefighters across the United States who died in the line of duty and specifically DeWitt Firefighter Charles J. Connelly who died in the line of duty 79 years ago today, on April 30, 1947.

Since 2017, “Light the Night for Fallen Firefighters” has recognized the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend. We encourage you to participate with us by placing red lights outside your business or home, in support of fallen firefighters and their families.

Today we join our brothers & sisters in blue to remember and honor. May their sacrifice never be forgotten.

Today we join our brothers & sisters in blue to remember and honor. May their sacrifice never be forgotten.

Today marks two years since the tragic loss of Lt. Michael Hoosock of the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office and Officer Michael Jensen of the Syracuse Police Department, who were killed in the line of duty.

Their courage, dedication, and sacrifice will never be forgotten. They gave their lives while protecting our community; an ultimate act of selflessness that continues to inspire all of us in law enforcement.

We pause today to honor their memory, reflect on their service, and keep their families, friends, and fellow officers in our thoughts. Their legacy lives on in the work we do every day.

Rest easy, Lt. Hoosock and Officer Jensen.
