Join us this evening to discuss the future of the Onondaga Creek Watershed and share your feedback with members of the City of Syracuse - Office of the Mayor's Neighborhood & Business Development and Engineering Departments, as well as some of our Parks Department staff.
Join NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, SUNY ESF's Center for Native Peoples and the Environment, City of Syracuse - Office of the Mayor Parks, Engineering and Neighborhood & Business Development departments, and partners for the Onondaga Creek Watershed Community Listening Session to share your priorities and visions for Onondaga Creek.
When: Wednesday, June 3, 5:00 – 7:30 p.m.
Where: Bob Cecile Community Center, 174 W Seneca Turnpike, Syracuse, NY 13205
What: The event will begin with an informal and interactive open house with subject matter experts. At 5:30 p.m. there will be brief remarks and an overview of previous work in the watershed, followed by breakout discussions. Community leaders will facilitate discussions about flood resilience, recreation and creek access, housing and neighborhood amenities, water quality and habitat, and shared governance within the watershed.
The event is free and open to the public and will focus on capturing new ideas and expanding upon existing momentum to build a more resilient creek watershed community.
