WHAT IS RAWFEST? RawFest is the first music and art festival of its kind in Northern Indiana and will take place on Saturday, September 3rd, from approximately 11am to 11pm in the open field area adjacent to Technical Services in Syracuse. Syracuse, IN 46567)

DS OF MUSICIANS/ARTIST WILL BE FEATURED AT RAWFEST? Artists: We're shooting for upwards of thirty artists participating in RawFest, all of whom have unique and edgy styles of art. We are specifically interested in having artists and craftsman not normally represented in traditional art festivals, such as tattoo artists, comic book artists, and artists who work in welding. Traditional art is also welcome, but will still fall under our selective arc of "Unique and Edgy". Music: RawFest is tentatively set to feature three to five bands from the surrounding area, who each play a different style of music not normally represented in this area (jam, folk, reggae, metal, etc). Alternative artists in Northern Indiana live in a void. It's a tough world, simply because many times these artists feel unappreciated and unrecognized in their home area. The closest festival of this kind is Oranj in Indianapolis. That's an awesome festival, but unfortunately, once its over the people up here are still lacking in a locale that values them. We want to change that!!! RawFest is the culmination of years of noticing bad-ass artists in our area who have no hope of ever being noticed by their community for the beauty of their craft. It isn't hard to create alternative art in a place wherein one is surrounded by it; it takes GUTS to create this type of art when you're the only one doing it. THIS is why northern Indiana needs RAWfest. These artists need to be appreciated for the hard work and creativity and drive they put into their art every day. RAWfest is that chance for us to celebrate their uniqueness give them a venue to show just how awesome they truly are.
