SUA has brought me so many opportunities and has introduced me to the most amazing people! People who have encouraged me to grow and learn more than I thought was possible. I will forever be grateful for the time I get to spend working, hanging out and making memories with everyone!”

“I love SUA because of the people within the organization. I’m grateful to have found a place like this where you’re working with people from so many different backgrounds but who all share the same goal of helping this community. Some of my closest friendships have come from this organization.

Being involved in Training has been one of the most rewarding parts of my time here. Being someone people can go to for help, breaking down topics that can be intimidating, and watching that understanding click has pushed me to strengthen my own knowledge in a way I didn’t expect.

A big part of what I try to do is go beyond just the textbook, working on passing down the practical things, the real-world mindset, and the small details you pick up through experience that you can only get through time. That kind of learning is what really builds confidence on calls, and being able to contribute to that for others has meant a lot to me.

Being on admin for the past 2 years has let me see the organization from a different perspective and be more involved in helping others succeed. SUA has given me opportunities I wouldn’t have had otherwise, and it’s something I’ll carry with me long after I leave.”

In my time as Personnel I’ve learned to be a strong supporter while staying true to my own personality, standing on what I know to be right. I am so grateful to have had the support system SUA offers and am proud to have contributed to its culture. To future Personnel, Administration, and General Members: nothing is impossible when you have teamwork, training, and a smile :) (PEN pg. 10 😉)”

Jonah Freund
Year: Senior
Majors: Biotechnology and Sociology
Hobbies: Running, hyrox training, golfing and hanging out with friends

“Being one of the Personnel Supervisors this year has been one of the most impactful roles I’ve been able to hold in my four years. In this role Abby and I were able to help training and educate 30 new members of the organization who will all go on to make tremendous contributions to this agency.

As a graduating senior, this organization has shaped me into the person I am today. All the ups and the downs were worth it. I wouldn’t change my experience for anything. From the events and activities I was able to organize as VP to the 30 new members I helped educate to the sleepless nights in Dispatch. That and so much more is what makes this place home. The people really do make the place. Thank you for everything SUA”

“I’ve loved being able to keep our general members informed and help with our merch designs! It’s been a pleasure getting to know all the members more and spread a bit of joy with my emails to them.

My time in SUA had been truly unforgettable. Walking into quarters I always know there’s going to be a friendly face to see and talk with, it’s what’s made this campus really feel like home. I’ve made countless memories getting to go on multiple adventures with these people, chit chatting on shift or in dispatch, and make some of my closest friends through this organization. It’s become a place of comfort so far from home and I couldn’t be more thankful to be apart of this amazing group of people.”

“I joined SUA first semester freshman year and it has completely shaped my college experience. I’ve learned how to advocate for myself and others, think quickly under stressful circumstances, and communicate clearly with a team. The skills I’ve developed from being a part of this organization are apparent in all areas of my life, especially as I begin to transition out of college and into the real world.

Serving as Treasurer this year has deepened my appreciation for SUA and everything that goes on behind the scenes to keep us running smoothly. I’ve loved getting to work with Paul and the rest of Admin to give back to the org that does so much for us.

Not only have I met my best friends here, but I have been given the privilege to be involved in a community that continuously shows up for one another. SUA means everything to me, and I am forever grateful for the experiences it has afforded me.“

“Being on admin this year has been one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had during my time at Syracuse. What makes SUA such a special organization is the people. It’s extremely tight-knit, and serving as VP has given me the chance to further strengthen the connectedness of our group. Seeing members become more involved, not only on shift, but also at events like Mets and Crunch games, barbecues, and trips to Sky Zone, has been incredibly special. Those moments reminded me how much of an impact simply bringing people together can have. Being able to help create an environment that encourages and strengthens those relationships has meant a lot to me.

I’m really excited to step into the role of Personnel next year and continue building on that. I’m looking forward to getting to know new members, helping them find their place in the organization, and continuing to make SUA a place where people feel connected and want to be involved.”

“Being President of SUA this past year has been one of my greatest honors. When I first joined the organization my sophomore year, I aspired to hold the role of president, yet I never knew how deeply fulfilling it would be.

SUA has undoubtedly shaped my college experience, providing me with an entire community of support. I learned lessons I’ll carry for the rest of my life from mentors and peers alike. SUA and EMS have become a major focus of my passions, and I owe many thanks to the entire organization.

Words cannot describe how eternally grateful I am for my time at SUA. Throughout the hardships I endured during my college experience, the members, supervisors, and staff of this organization always showed unwavering support to me and my family. SUA has always been a very bright light in my day to day life, and I would not be the person I am today without it.

Thank you SUA.
I was honored to serve as your President.

Signing off,
Alice Bagley”
