Folksโ€ฆ we need to talk about the recent uptick in road rage incidents weโ€™ve been seeing lately.

Some have been minor arguments.
Some have involved crashes.
Some have turned physical.
And unfortunately, some have even involved weapons.

We get it - traffic is frustrating. Someone cuts you off, forgets what a turn signal is, or decides the speed limit is merely a โ€œsuggestion.โ€ It happens. But before you lay on the horn, throw hand gestures worthy of an interpretive dance routine, or attempt to audition for โ€œFast & Furious: Fayetteville Driftโ€ - take a breath.

Because the reality is: you NEVER know who is behind the wheel of the other vehicleโ€ฆ or what theyโ€™re capable of.

That driver might be having the worst day of their life.
They might be distracted.
They might be unstable.
Or they might simply have far less patience and common sense than you do.

More than 5,000 motorcycle riders with the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association will be traveling throughout Onondaga County all week. These men and women have already served our country with honor, letโ€™s do our part to keep them safe on our roads.

Motorcycles are smaller and easier to miss in traffic. Before changing lanes, turning, or pulling into an intersection, take an extra second and look twice.

โœ” Check your mirrors
โœ” Watch your blind spots
โœ” Put down the phone
โœ” Give motorcycles plenty of space

One moment of attention can prevent a lifetime of regret.

As we enjoy the freedoms these veterans helped defend, letโ€™s show our respect by driving responsibly and sharing the road safely.

๐Ÿš—๐Ÿ“ฑ Day two at CNS High School health classes!

We spent the day with a great group of 10th graders talking about the real-life dangers of distracted and impaired driving. Students participated in hands-on simulations that showed just how quickly a moment of distraction can change a life.

These conversations matter. Todayโ€™s students are tomorrowโ€™s drivers, and education is one of the best tools we have to keep our roads safe.

A big thank you to the students and staff for their engagement and participation!
