A big thank you to one of our incredible 2026 Day of Caring Presenting Sponsors, IBEW Local 43! ⚡️💙

This year, the skilled team from IBEW Local 43 spent their Day of Caring giving back at Vera House, lending their expertise to perform essential electrical work to keep facility spaces safe, bright, and welcoming.

Vera House, Inc. works tirelessly to establish safety, healing, and hope for individuals and families impacted by domestic and sexual violence. The hands-on dedication from IBEW Local 43 ensures that Vera House can continue focusing on what matters most: serving our community.

Thank you, IBEW Local 43, for powering local impact and standing behind our community!

🩸 38 units collected, countless lives touched!

During our Day of Caring on August 6, our incredible community stepped up when the need was greatest. In the midst of an ongoing national emergency blood shortage, Central New York volunteers showed up in a big way for our American Red Cross Eastern New York blood drive at Northeast Medical Center Center in Fayetteville!

Even our Chief Development Officer, Meghann Sandak, and Chief Community Officer, Katie Koerner Hanlon put on their Day of Caring t-shirts and rolled up their sleeves to give back.

Special shoutout to the eight first-time donors who stepped forward to make their very first lifesaving donation, and thanks to NewsRadio 570 WSYR's Dave Allen 570 WSYR for once again championing the Day of Caring drive!

Thank you to everyone who took the time to donate, volunteer, and provide hope to those who need it most. Because when we come together, United, We Do More. 💙

When you think of the Day of Caring, you might picture massive groups painting, building playgrounds, or cleaning up parks.

But sometimes, the biggest impact happens in a quiet, one-on-one moment. 💈✨

Huge thank you to Justin Witter from Forum Barber Shop, who spent his Day of Caring at the Center for Community Alternatives (CCA). Justin volunteered his time and talent to give free, fresh haircuts to young men and women in CCA’s programs.

A fresh haircut is so much more than a trim—it’s confidence, dignity, and a reminder that your community is in your corner.

Thank you, Justin, for giving these young adults your undivided attention and making sure they walk out the door feeling their absolute best.

🌭❤️ If you’ve stopped by the Friday hot dog pop-up at the Route 31 Liverpool Wegmans, you’ve met the wonderful "Hot Dog Ladies" Karen & Dorothy.

Week after week, they pour their energy and hearts into raising critical funds for United Way of CNY -- and they’ve already raised tens of thousands of dollars so far this year!

Tomorrow is Friday, which means it’s time to show them some love. Head to your local Wegmans, grab a hot dog for lunch, and help keep the momentum going!
