🚒 Fire Alarm Response & Fire Safety Reminder
At approximately 2:51 a.m. today, the Hinsdale Fire Department and mutual aid from the Lyncourt Fire Department were activated for a fire alarm at the Orchard Estates Apartment Complex.
Hinsdale Engine 8 arrived first due and confirmed that there was nothing showing from the exterior, but an active alarm was sounding. Crews began investigating the cause. Hinsdale Tanker/Pumper 6 then arrived second due and assisted with the investigation.
Hinsdale Command remained with the Hinsdale units and, after determining no further assistance was needed, released Lyncourt Truck 2. We sincerely thank the Lyncourt Volunteer Fire Department for their mutual aid and support. 🚒
The alarms had reportedly been sounding for more than 10 hours. This is an important reminder to check your smoke detectors and make sure they are working properly. As we prepare for the fall season and Fire Prevention Month, take time to practice fire safety with your children in a way they can understand. Teaching them what to do in an emergency helps keep our families and communities safer.
