The purpose of this page is for the Sheriff’s Department to present information and updates on news, incidents, events, and services which may be of interest to the public, including Pierce County residents, businesses, and visitors. This page also provides information on crime prevention and other public safety tips. Please note
this is a limited public forum and not an open public forum. The Sheriff’s Department reserves the right to hide comments that:
• use vulgar, offensive, threatening or harassing language
• contain personal attacks
• disparage any ethnic, racial or religious group
• promote or incite violence
• advocate illegal activity
• are not related to the posted topic
• promote or oppose any candidate for election to political office or any ballot proposition
• promote or advertise a business or commercial transaction
• infringe on copyrights and/or trademarks
• name a victim of a crime or name a suspect in a crime who is not charged and being sought by law enforcement
