DJ’s dedication to first-generation college students at the University of Washington Tacoma is truly inspiring. Through his leadership of the First Generation Program, he has created a place where students feel welcomed, supported, and encouraged to believe in themselves and their future. DJ leads with kindness, compassion, and a genuine commitment to helping students overcome challenges, stay focused on their goals, and reach graduation. His passion for creating opportunities and helping others succeed reflects the very heart of Sound Outreach’s mission. We are honored to recognize DJ and celebrate the incredible difference he continues to make in the lives of students and throughout our community.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Tacoma beginning at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 21, through 11 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22. Community members can visit a Tacoma Public Library to cool off. Residents can also access resources and supplies at these locations:
🔷St. Vincent de Paul (4009 South 56th Street, Tacoma, WA 98409), 10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
🔷Tacoma Recovery Center (2201 South 19th Street, Suite 101, Tacoma, WA 98405), 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Congratulations to Arivva's 7th cohort of graduates from their Introduction to Healthcare Employment and Apprenticeship Programs on Friday 7/10! Sound Outreach was proud to be a part of the journey, partnering to do mock-interviews for their students before graduation.
