Hello, my name is Jacqui Dawley,

I am co-founder and operator of Jo Ellen’s Safe Haven in Graham Wa..

We have been trying to create awareness of the homeless, mental health, and S.U.D. epidemic happening not only here in Pierce county, Washington, but in the entirety of Washington state, and eventually, across all of America.

We work with families, women, men and youth who are in crisis.

I want to be honest. This task is daunting, and we need your help. Our non-profit is applying for grants, but it’s such a slow process! We need more immediate help while we wait because we are loosing human beings to the elements, untreated mental health crisis, drugs and violence.

We offer these sufferers hope. These are some of our ongoing outreaches:

*Sammy’s pizza is sponsoring “take over night” for non-profits, for our company.

*We are fundraising via school functions and school sports.

Our approach is simple: come as you are.

When homeless people are given an ounce of hope and respect, they start thinking differently.

Not everyone will want to get clean and sober, and not all can transition from survival mode to joining and becoming a productive member of society.

But there are those who want exactly that. These individuals and families are our target group.

What Washington State considers “affordable housing” is shocking to say the least.

We at Jo Ellen’s Safe Haven are putting up a shelter first, and then building actual affordable housing with wrap-around services such as accessible mental health, S.U.D. help, employment and housing coaches, and certified peer counseling.

If you would put a spotlight on this, you would be part of the solution. And honestly speaking, this homeless atrocity won't change until everyday people start getting involved and helping.

We are loosing so many people to this epidemic, it is unconscionable.

Please help us help others.

We are doing a Super Bowl Take Over: Sun.Feb.12, 2023 from 11 am to closing at Sammy's Pizza in Tacoma.
