Bridge deck rehabilitation work is expected to begin June 22 on the following three Pierce County bridges:
• Alder Cutoff Rd E at Mashel River (Bridge #24164‑A)
• 96th St E at Puyallup River (Bridge #6195‑A)
• Orville Rd E at Kapowsin Creek (Bridge #5175‑C)

Traffic impacts: While this work is being done, the bridges will be closed and detours in place.

•The closures for the Mashel River and Kapowsin Creek crossings are expected to go through mid-July
•The Puyallup River crossing closure will go through mid-August.

Detours for all three bridge closures can be found on the project webpage.

What's being done: The contractor will be resurfacing the bridge decks which involve removing the surface and laying down a new roadway. This work is highly dependent on weather.

I’m proud to work with Pierce County to advocate for Community Project Funding for the roundabout project at the intersection of Lackey Road NW, Jackson Lake Road NW, and Key Peninsula Highway NW.

This project will improve traffic flow, reduce congestion, calm traffic, and address longstanding safety concerns raised by local residents. It’s an important investment in safer, more efficient transportation for the Key Peninsula community.

When securing your cargo for a trip, consider the safety of people driving in vehicles behind you.

Even if it’s a short ride, or you’re going slow, or your items seem heavy enough to stay put, secure them. Let’s work together to keep our friends, families, and roads safe.
