The doors are open, the classrooms are ready, and we’re counting down to day one! ⚓️

Last week, incoming Maritime|253 students and their families toured our brand-new skills center, connected with instructors and got a preview of what’s ahead. We’re just one week away from welcoming students on September 9!

Located at the Port of Tacoma, Maritime|253 is a regional skills center for students in grades 11–12. Students from across the region can enroll while staying connected to their home high school and spend half of their school day building hands-on, career-ready skills at M253.

And there’s still time to join us! 👉 Learn more and explore enrollment at Maritime253.org.

This is Maritime🌊⚓

The maritime industry relies on skilled trades and mechanical expertise to keep equipment running and cargo moving.

Meet Craig Brix, Mechanic (Journey Level).

As a mechanic at the Port of Tacoma, Craig maintains and repairs a wide variety of equipment, from lawn mowers and patrol vehicles to container cranes and straddle carriers. His work combines hands-on problem-solving and technical expertise to help keep port operations running efficiently. Craig's career connects to Maritime|253’s Advanced Maritime Manufacturing pathway, showing students how mechanical skills can lead to rewarding careers in the maritime industry.
