The facility is equipped with an NHL regulation ice surface, food concessions, 4 indoor/6 outdoor tennis courts, 5 racquetball courts, one of the largest outdoor skateboarding parks in Western Washington, 8 softball diamonds, outdoor basketball courts, multiple meeting rooms, walking trails and SPIRE Rock, the mountain climber's rock. Big milestone alert for the Parkland Community Trail! 🎉

Check out the 80-foot pedestrian bridge at Parkland Prairie!

This will connect both sides of the prairie, bringing us one step closer to a safer, more connected community.

This paved trail will link Sprinker Recreation Center, Parkland Prairie, Gonyea Playfield, Keithley Middle School, Brookdale Elementary School, Washington High School, and Pacific Lutheran University creating a key corridor for pedestrians to travel safely between these local destinations.

Check out the progress underway at the Parkland Community Trail project! 🛠️

The first section of the trail has been paved along Yakima Ave, from Sprinker Recreation Center to 135th St S. Plus, a bridge was installed early last week in the Parkland Prairie that connects to the trail. Once the bridge is all set, we'll be able to pave the remainder of the trail! We're so close to the finish line. 😄

💡We're upgrading our lighting system at Sprinker Recreation Center's ice rink!

Between June 1–4, you may start to notice some activity as our Facilities Management team works to create an even better experience for our skaters, fans, and programs. All work happens overnight (10:30 p.m.–8:30 a.m.), so your daytime sessions won't be impacted.

Once installation is complete, you may notice some lighting adjustments as our team dials everything in. Please bear with us while we put the finishing touches on this exciting improvement. ✨
