WW Seymour Botanical Conservatory In 1908 the Conservatory at Wright Park opened through a generous gift from William W. Seymour. We welcome dialogue with the public. W.W.

This historical glass gem features a permanent collection of rare, unusual, and endangered plants, as well as changing floral exhibits. Seymour Conservatory is a facility of Metro Parks Tacoma. Spring is in the air and it’s time to start thinking about flowers! The Point Defiance Flower & Garden Festival is June 6 –7. The festival features activities for adults and kids with workshops, garden tours, food trucks, art and garden vendors, keynote speakers, wine tasting, and so much more!

Admission to the festival is FREE but some workshops, garden tours and nature walks require registration. Space is limited. Register at www.parkstacoma.gov/ptdflowergardenfest

MAKE & TAKE WORKSHOPS

GUIDED GARDEN TOURS
Tour the Japanese garden with the expert horticulturists who help maintain and design it. A historian accompanies the tour to talk about the history and stories surrounding the garden.

PAINT & SIP WORKSHOPS
Join local artists in the Rose Garden for this one-of-a-kind experience. Sip on a selection of curated wines and follow along with the instructor to create a unique work of art to take home.

PAINT & PUNCH WORKSHOPS
Kid-friendly! These workshops are designed especially for youth. Participants can follow along with the instructor to paint a unique work of art.

MAKE & TAKE WORKSHOPS FOR KIDS

Prop. 1 would invest up to $155 million in parks with no increase in current taxes.

The bond proposal, which is going before voters in a special election April 28, would invest in neighborhood parks, keep parks open and safe, create community gathering spaces, enhance sports and active lifestyles, and help people connect with nature and wildlife.
