Hilltop Scholars High School:
-Tutoring: Monday-Thursday 2:45-5:45 p.m. Hilltop Scholars Middle School:
-Tutoring takes place after school at Jason Lee Middle School every Monday-Thursday 3:00-5:30 p.m. Elementary Program:
-Morning session takes place Monday-Thursdays from 8:30-9:00
-After-school program takes place Mondays-Thursdays from 3:30-6:00 p.m. at McCarver Elementary School

During this lunch gathering, we’ll share reflections from our community engagement process, the values and commitments shaping our next chapter, and invite your continued wisdom and participation to guide our path forward. There will be time for individual and table reflections and sharing to provide the board with wisdom as we finish the strategic plan and enter its initial implementation. We will close with opportunities for people to share thoughts with the entire community and the Board of Directors.

Our strategic foundation is built on four commitments:
1️⃣ Centering Community – Advocating for the Hilltop and celebrating its story of justice and diversity.
2️⃣ Faith Mission – Living out a faith that does justice, grounded in service and equity.
3️⃣ Safe Space – Fostering belonging and authentic relationships where everyone is seen and heard.
4️⃣ Accountable Partnership – Listening and learning with our community as a trusted partner.

We’ve recommitted Peace Community Center to supporting young people and families. We know that a safe and stable home is essential for a young person to thrive, so we are committed to working to address economic inequities and build housing stability within our community.

Fall Update! 🍂

The Peace Community Center Board of Directors made the difficult decision to pause all education programming starting in September 2023. During the last year the Board was able to regain financial sustainability, fiscal clarity, and began to build a healthier partnership between The Center and Peace Lutheran Church congregation and staff, our foundational partner in service to the Hilltop community.

We have now begun the process of strategic planning in August of 2024 with a focus on engaging and listening to the community. In addition to the Board, an advisory group of Peace Lutheran and Hilltop community members has been recruited to support and lead the strategic planning process under the guidance of consultant Tali Hairston and his team at Equitable Development LLC. Our hope is to have a plan in place in early 2025.

“Academic programming has been paused for the 2023-24 school year as Peace Community Center regains financial stability, fiscal clarity, and builds healthier partnerships. In the midst of this season of change, we celebrate the young people and their families who have participated in our programs over the past two decades, as well as members of the community who have supported our mission. We love it whenever we get the chance to introduce you to one of our amazing Scholars! Today we're excited to introduce you to Lily, a Bobcat Scholar at Hilltop Heritage Middle School. She always looks forward to enrichment activities at afterschool program like cooking and creating murals! Her mom Jennifer has generously offered to match your donations up to $200.
