Eloise's Cooking Pot Food Bank provides quality food to the communities of East and South Tacoma, Washington. Ahndrea, our founder, was concerned about the children in these communities who were not eating on a regular basis due to their families experiencing economic hardship. Without government assistance, Ahndrea began

delivering food to her tenants in this area. This is how the foundation for Eloise's Cooking Pot Food Bank began. In 2015, as of October, we have served over 80,000 clients and have provided over a million pounds of food. In conjunction with providing food from the four basic food groups, we provide ethnic food, household products, pet food, baby items as well as weekly home deliveries to provide for our senior and disabled citizens. Eloise was a woman of humble means, but would generously share whatever food she had by providing a hot meal to anyone who was in need. Eloise's Cooking Pot also provides professional cooked meals to the homeless. On every fifth Sunday, Eloise's Cooking Pot Food Bank, along with a local executive Chef and volunteers prepare a hot meal and serve over 100 clients, staff, and volunteers of the Matt Talbot Center located in Seattle, Washington. The food bank also has a garden which produce fresh food and herbs. Our garden is located on Trafton and Railroad in Tacoma, Washington. This project was developed to provide a stable, internal source of fresh food for our clients. It is managed by volunteers. These volunteers prepare the land for cultivation, plant seeds, weed the fields, and harvest the food throughout the growing season. Once the food is harvested it is immediately available for our clients. The clients receiving this food are being provided with a source of fresh, organic produce, that is nutrient-rich and locally grown.
