We’re hoping to change that! We like to describe ourselves as a tuition free, college prep public high school where you receive the benefits of a private education. We are, and will remain a small school of roughly 300 students. We offer individualized learning plans, as well as coaching, mentoring & support in all areas of life to students between 9th and 12th grade, regardless of their zip code. We welcome students in Tacoma and surrounding areas such as Gig Harbor, Federal Way, Puyallup, Auburn, etc. Check out our fun video to peek behind the curtain: http://bit.ly/socurious253 High school shouldn't simply be endured (by students or parents), nor should it be a constant source of stress and anxiety. It should be a foundation of learning that catapults kids into the next phase of their journey. This is what we're good at. Here’s a little... SHOW & TELL During COVID-19, our team of educators mobilized from the classroom to interactive “virtual school” in TWO DAYS. This allowed students and teachers to stay connected “face-to-face” online, and offered a sense of norm during trying times. It also reduced the stress of falling behind - and what that could mean for the upcoming school year. 100% of our 2019 graduating class were accepted to one or more four-year colleges, regardless of their learning style or IEP. Over $2,000,000 in grants, scholarships & financial aid were raised to support our Class of 2019’s journey. This made possible through our college prep courses and Mentor Program, which help off-set student debt. We celebrate a diverse culture of every kind, including race, with 35% Latino- Hispanic, 25% Black/African American, 25% Caucasian & 15% Multi-cultural. We provide a laptop to each student to help support their learning experience and grow their understanding of how technology can be used as a successful tool instead of a distraction. Located across from the Tacoma Dome Station, we offer a complimentary Orca Pass to all students for transportation.
