On June 19th, around 8:30 pm, a Dodge Charger was traveling at a high rate of speed in the 400 block of Military Rd E, in Spanaway, when it attempted to avoid colliding with a man mowing his front lawn.
The vehicle attempted to correct itself and left the roadway, striking a tree and splitting the Charger in half. The 48-year-old male driver and a 37-year-old female back passenger were deceased on the scene. Another 53-year-old female front passenger was transported to a local hospital in life-threatening condition. There were numerous empty alcohol containers in the wreckage. It is believed alcohol was a factor in this collision.

This second call occurred on June 21st around 9:45 pm when multiple residents from an apartment complex at the 11000 block of Waller Rd E called to report a man was attempting to enter their apartments and exposing and touching himself with no pants on. Video surveillance shows the man attempting to enter an apartment completely exposed while a mother and her daughter were home. Probable cause was established for the man's arrest. The 32-year-old male was contacted at his apartment and arrested for multiple counts of indecent exposure.

This last call occurred on June 20th around 2:00 am when deputies were investigating a commercial burglary at the 5700 block of 161ST St Ct. E on South Hill. A vehicle suddenly pulls up to them, and deputies investigate to see if it's related to the burglary. After speaking with the driver for a few seconds, the deputy spots a bottle of Vodka in the center console. The driver then opens the center console, and a gun is seen. Major Incident 110th St S and Pacific Ave S, Parkland WA

On June 20th at 5:22 pm, a deputy attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the Alta Apartments off Steele St. S in Tacoma. The vehicle failed to yield and took off at a high rate of speed northbound on Steele St. S. The vehicle was forced to slow down, due to traffic, and deputies were able to deploy a tracker device and terminate the pursuit.

A few minutes later, the vehicle had stopped at 84th and Yakima Ave, and deputies attempted to make contact with the male suspect. The male jumped back into the vehicle and fled a second time, heading northbound and later onto Pacific Ave. S.

Deputies pursued the vehicle onto Pacific Ave. S where the suspect vehicle was reported wrecking out with another vehicle at 110th St. S and Pacific Ave. S at 5:29 pm. The male suspect fled on foot. Terrifying Call Ends With Rescue of 5-Month-Old

On June 16th at approximately 9:45 a.m., deputies responded to a domestic violence call after a victim reported she had been strangled by her boyfriend. The victim also reported that the suspect had taken their 5-month-old child and left in a vehicle with the infant sitting on his lap.

As deputies searched for the suspect, they learned he had allegedly made suicidal statements and driven away erratically with the baby unrestrained in the vehicle. Deputies developed probable cause for assault and kidnapping and began an extensive search for the vehicle.
More than an hour later, deputies located the vehicle in a neighborhood near the 8600 block of 224th St. E in Graham and conducted a felony traffic stop. Knowing an infant could be inside the vehicle, deputies approached the situation with extreme caution and carefully evaluated each decision as the incident unfolded.

The 27-year-old suspect complied with deputies' commands while holding the child. The infant was safely recovered and was not injured. The suspect was taken into custody and booked for Assault in the 4th Degree, Assault in the 2nd Degree, Kidnapping in the 1st Degree, Reckless Driving, Reckless Endangerment, and Felony Harassment with Threats to Kill.

This was an emotionally intense and high-risk situation for everyone involved. We are grateful for the professionalism, compassion, and restraint our deputies demonstrated while safely resolving the incident and ensuring the well-being of the child. Great work, deputies.

“No Contact” Means “No Contact”

On June 8 at 7:15 a.m., deputies were dispatched to a domestic violence protection order violation in progress. The victim reported her husband, who was prohibited from being at the residence, was outside yelling and attempting to force entry by attempting to break down the door and break windows. The suspect had also called and messaged the victim more than 100 times, repeatedly violating the no-contact order.
