West Kern Adult Education Network - WKAEN Transforming Adult Education in the West Kern Region Since 2014, WKAEN has partnered with various organizations and businesses forming a broader consortium.

The West Kern Adult Education Network (WKAEN) is a state funded program providing support for adult education in West Kern. In the Spring of 2016, the West Kern Adult Education Network officially opened its doors at the Historic Taft Fort with the vision: "The consortium will ensure that all residents have access to sufficient and effective resources, training, and support required to meet communi

ty needs for high school equivalency, literacy, English as a Second Language (ESL), and citizenship education." WKAEN is located within a district that has a population base of 27,000 residents. Within the district, there is one community college district, one unified school district, one high school district, and five K-8 schools.
