From our Friends over at P.A.A.C.-People Assisting Animal Control Sharing Why Hydration Matters for our animals! It is still warm out please make sure to check on your pets.

Proper hydration helps your pet:
• 💧 Regulate body temperature
• ❤️ Support healthy heart and organ function
• 🩺 Aid digestion and nutrient absorption
• 🐾 Lubricate joints and maintain healthy muscles
• 🧠 Support normal brain function and energy levels
• 🛡️ Reduce the risk of heat exhaustion and heatstroke
Signs of Dehydration
Watch for these common warning signs:
• Excessive panting
• Dry or sticky gums
• Lethargy or weakness
• Sunken eyes
• Loss of appetite
• Thick saliva
• Decreased skin elasticity (skin stays "tented" when gently lifted)
If your pet shows signs of severe dehydration or heatstroke, seek veterinary care immediately.
Tips to Keep Your Pet Hydrated
• 🥣 Always provide fresh, clean water and refill bowls frequently.
• 🧊 Add ice cubes to water bowls on especially hot days.
• 🌳 Ensure outdoor pets have access to shade and cool resting areas.
• 🚶 Walk dogs during the early morning or late evening when temperatures are lower.
• 🚗 Never leave a pet unattended in a parked vehicle—even for a few minutes.

• 🍉 Offer water-rich treats, such as pet-safe frozen snacks or veterinarian-approved fruits and vegetables.
• 🧳 Bring water and a portable bowl whenever traveling or spending time outdoors.
