We would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who donated during our boot drop at Tafton Fire House on Saturday. Your generosity and support mean a great deal to our members and the community we proudly serve.

Every donation helps us maintain our equipment, purchase up-to-date gear, and ensure that our firefighters, EMS providers, and fire police have the tools they need to respond safely and effectively when you call for help.

Because of your support, we can continue to answer the call whenever we are needed. We are truly grateful for the trust you place in us.

Thank you to everyone who came out and showed their support yesterday at our pancake breakfast! Even with the poor weather, we still had a great turnout, and we truly appreciate everyone who stopped by.

Our next breakfast will be held during 4th of July weekend and will be drive-through takeout only. We will share more details after our company’s next monthly meeting.

Thank you again to everyone who came out we always love seeing and spending time with our community!

Due to a motor vehicle accident, Route 507 is currently closed between Tafton Fire and Rescue Company and the Tafton Country Store until further notice.

There is no access to Route 507 from Route 390 at this time.
Please seek alternate routes and avoid the area to allow emergency crews to operate safely.

🚨 Incident Report β€” May 5 🚨

Tafton Fire and Rescue Company responded to a brush fire yesterday along Gumbletown Road near the intersection of Route 507.

At approximately 2:30 PM, firefighters, DCNR, and EMS personnel were dispatched to a reported brush fire involving an estimated 20 ft. x 20 ft. area. Crews arrived quickly to find the fire spreading rapidly due to warm temperatures, wind, and dry brush conditions. Even after recent rainfall, leaves and dead brush can dry out very quickly during warm, windy weather, creating dangerous fire conditions.

Firefighters worked aggressively to contain the fire before it could spread further into the wooded area. Thanks to the fast actions of responding crews, the fire was stopped approximately 100 feet into the forest before additional mutual aid resources were needed.

At this time, there were no obvious signs indicating the exact cause of the fire. Because of this, we want to remind the public about the dangers of improperly discarding trash or any items capable of generating heat. Even small items tossed from vehicles can quickly ignite dry brush under the right conditions.

Please help protect our community and environment by properly disposing of all trash and smoking materials. Had this fire gone unnoticed longer or had response been delayed, the situation could have escalated rapidly.

No prior experience is necessary β€” all training is provided.

We are also currently hiring EMTs and Paramedics. If you are interested, please stop by the station or reach out to learn more.

🚨 Public Safety Announcement Reminder🚨

Beginning today, May 4, the I-84 Westbound on-ramp at Route 390 will be closed due to ongoing road work. The ramp is expected to remain closed until approximately May 27.

🚧 Detours will be in place β€” please plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and use caution when driving through the area.

We will provide an update as soon as the ramp reopens.
