Oklahoma laws taking effect As of 11-1-2025

1) All ma*****na products that are opened, and in the passenger area of the vehicle will be considered an open container if it’s in your vehicle and not in a secured place out of reach (like alcohol). Home grown needs to be in the trunk. If it’s factory sealed still, it can be anywhere in the vehicle (cup holder, glove box, door), it is a $250 fine and up to 6 months in jail.

They are also cracking down on people driving while stoned.

2) Cell phone laws are updated, you CAN NOT grab your phone to answer a call, it MUST be done through the car controls. Larger fines for workplace and school zones. The base fine is $100, with additions.

3) NO SMOKING to***co products with children under the age of 12 in the car, it is a FELONY if it occurs within 1000 feet of a school, park, or the presence of a child

4) DUI’s are now a mandatory 10 days in jail for your FIRST offense, and additional charges for aggravated DUI (accidents, fleeing, eluding, evading) and if it occurs with a child in the car, you are potentially losing your license for the rest of your life. Wesley Lightle..
