On the morning of Saturday August 5, 2023, CCSO deputies responded to two different business in the Peggs area of northern Cherokee County. Responding deputies were supplied with surveillance recordings from one of the business burglaries and still photos of the surveillance recordings were posted to several social media sites. A Locust Grove police officer recognized the photo of the suspect and provided CCSO deputies with the suspect’s name, SAMUEL SCOUT TIMMONS.

CCSO deputies Dylan Carder, Jimmy Tannehill and BJ Jackson tracked TIMMONS to a campground north of Peggs and arrested him for the burglaries. TIMMONS was still in possession of many of the items stolen during the three burglaries including a 9mm handgun.
