United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians in Oklahoma

09/28/2026

Each year, on the first weekend of October, the United Keetoowah Band comes together to honor our history, celebrate our people, and commemorate October 3, 1950 – the day our ancestors ratified the constitution and bylaws that established the foundation of our tribal government and affirmed our right to govern ourselves.

This year’s 76th Annual Keetoowah Celebration theme, “Honoring Our Ancestors, Empowering Our Youth,” reflects the generations of Keetoowah people who have worked to preserve our identity, sovereignty, and traditions. It is also a reminder of the responsibility we all share to carry that legacy forward, and ensure our young people have the knowledge, connection, and opportunity to carry our Keetoowah identity forward into the future.

Join us Saturday, October 3, for the 76th annual Keetoowah Celebration as we honor those who came before us, celebrate our people and empower the next generation.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Look what just went up! 👀 💚

Say hello to the very first UKB Health Services sign! This is what sovereignty looks like!

This sign represents a milestone years in the making. Back in 2008, the UKB signed its first self-determination contract with the Indian Health Service to provide behavioral health care. Today, our behavioral health system is a model of quality care for our Members.

Since then, we've kept going – adding Purchased and Referred Care and working toward clinical services of our own.

This one is for the ones who came before us, for our hardworking health staff, and for every Member as we advance the UKB forward!
