The final “Stories on the Square” event of the summer is this Wednesday, June 24! Cherokee storyteller Larry Shade, renowned for his cultural teachings, will share a variety of traditional stories that have been passed down to him at the Cherokee National Peace Pavilion in downtown Tahlequah, Oklahoma.

Stories begin at 10 a.m., followed by a fun activity for all ages. This event is free and open to the public. We hope you’ll join us!

Cherokee actress and storyteller Candice Byrd-Boney will perform traditional Cherokee stories at “Stories on the Square” this Wednesday! You may know Candice from her portrayals of Sequoyah and her appearance on OsiyoTV.

Stories will begin at 10 a.m., followed by a cultural activity for all ages, at the Cherokee National Peace Pavilion in downtown Tahlequah, Oklahoma. This event is free and open to the public.

Cherokee National Treasure Robert Lewis’ wild and wonderful stories help imaginations soar. Join us at the Cherokee National Peace Pavilion for his latest performance this Wednesday, June 10, during “Stories on the Square!”

This event is free and open to the public. Lewis’ stories will begin at 10 a.m. followed by a fun cultural activity for all ages.

“Stories on the Square” returns every Wednesday morning in June! Our outdoor storytelling series features Cherokee stories performed live at the Cherokee National Peace Pavilion in downtown Tahlequah, Oklahoma, followed by fun cultural activities for all ages. Each event begins at 10 a.m.!

Here is the 2026 lineup of storytellers:

— June 3: Cherokee National History Museum interpreter and former Miss Cherokee Meekah Roy
— June 10: Cherokee National Treasure Robert Lewis
— June 17: Cherokee actress & storyteller Candice Byrd-Boney
— June 24: Traditional Cherokee storyteller Larry Shade
